Year 2008 Retreat at the Panditarama Forest Meditation Center

Location: Hse Main Gon - about 45 miles north of Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma)

Dates: December 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009 (Need to register on November 27th or 28th - go to Getting to Burma for more info)

Teachers:
Venerable Sayadaw U Pandita
Venerable Sayadaw U Sasana
Venerable Sayadaw U Thamanay Kyaw

Last years retreat held at the Hse Main Gon Panditarama Forest Meditation Center was very successful with 100 meditators from all over the world including Burma in attendance. The Sayadaws participating in this retreat were very pleased with the results of many of the yogis' efforts.

Since the 1998 retreat, development at the new forest center has continued to progress. The forest has been re-landscaped, the dining hall is complete, the electrical and water supply have been upgraded and all of the meditation cabins (Kutis) have been finished. The new men's meditation hall has also been completed. Women and men now each have their own hall to practice in. The women also have a new outside (covered) walking meditation area.

This new center is the direct result of the tremendous efforts and generosity of Dhamma supporters in Burma and throughout the rest of the world.

All meditation instruction, room and board are given freely in the spirit of Dana (meritorious deeds).
