Books by the Venerable Mahāsi Sayadaw
Mahāsi Sayadaw (July 29, 1904 — August 14, 1982), a renowned Theravada Buddhist meditation master and scholar, was responsible for reviving the practice of Vipassanā all over Burma (Myanmar) and making it accessible to laypeople. He served in the prominent role of Questioner and Final Editor at the historic Sixth Buddhist council in 1954, and his method of Vipassanā meditation, known as the “Mahāsi method,” has gained worldwide recognition. His books are instrumental in clarifying the correct method of practice, and point out a sure way to attain Nibbāna, the cessation of all suffering.

Sayadaw U Pandita (July 28, 1921 — April 16, 2016) was the successor to Mahāsi Sayadaw and was one of the foremost meditation teachers of our time.
